Tier 4 UK Study Visa Simple Steps

Step 1:

Register yourself at http://www.ucas.com and find the courses suitable for you or apply directly from University/College Website. If you application is approved you will get an admission offer letter.

 

Step 2:

Deposit Fee either partial or full and you will get further correspondence for CAS letter. When the CAS is prepared, you will get an email that will ask  you to check the details of your CAS. Make sure  all the information/details  included are  correct.

  • If the CAS letter  is correct,  Intimate the sponsor that information is correct.
  • If the CAS letter  is incorrect, follow the instructions to report any errors.

Once you have verified that your CAS letter details are correct, you will receive your CAS letter  within few  working days

 

Details of  tuition fees paid, including deposits and University scholarships, will be shown  in your CAS.  Please check this carefully as any outstanding funds need to be shown in your financial evidence with your visa application.

 

Step 3:

Get Ready  your financial proofs / Bank statement.

You need to show funds which cover your remaining fee of the first year  plus  living costs  or expenses. Details of living cost are as below:

GBP1015/- per month for students, up to a maximum of 9 months  that is total GBP9135/-

If you have any dependents then £680 per month each for dependants, up to a maximum of 9 months (£6,180). 

The funds must be held in applicants own bank account  for 28 consecutive days before you apply for your visa online.

 

Step 4:

Prepare your other supporting documents, which should be original  copies are not acceptable

In some countries  a TB test is required from a UK approved clinic.

Transcripts  of your academic qualifications that are mentioned in  the CAS letter.

English language test evidence, but only if referred to on your CAS letter.

For students coming to study degree-level courses  if it is mentioned on CAS letter  that the University is satisfied with your English language level  then no evidence of English language will be required at the time of  Tier 4 student visa application.

In some courses English language tests are compulsory in that instance students must possess valid English language certificate (IELTS, TOEFL etc) which is classed as a secure English language test (SELT) by the UK government.

Please have a look at more documents that  you may need to include such as translations or a letter of parental consent etc.

 

Step 5:

Visit https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa/apply and read guidelines and go through step by step  to Complete the online visa application form.

You will be asked to pay the visa application fee of GBP348/- (or equivalent in local currency).  If you want  some  priority application services offered in your country that will cost some extra amount.

 You will need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge to access the UK’s National Health Service (NHS). All dependants who are applying to come to the UK for more than 6 months must also pay this health surcharge. 


Step 6:

Take out the print of the online filled application form and make sure to read documents checklist properly. And get all the documents ready according to checklist and CAS letter.

As part of the online visa application, you will book an appointment to attend a Visa Application Centre in person to submit your documents and have your biometric information taken (fingerprints and photograph). You can either get walk in services by paying a bit extra.

 

Step 7:

You will also receive a decision letter from UK Visas and Immigration confirming that your visa application is successful along a visa sticker on your passport.  You should show both the vignette and the letter to the UK border authorities at the time of arrival in UK.

Your full visa will be printed on a biometric residence permit (BRP), and must be collected within ten days of arriving in the UK

If your visa is for 6 months or less, the vignette will be valid for the full duration of your visa and you will not need to collect a BRP.
